Almost a year later...

So it's almost a year later since my last post...

I moved to Atlanta, it was great. I grew up a lot. I had to.

However, I am back in Illinois. My mom left her partner and started her own office, she offered to pay for me to go to school if I would work for her. I took her offer.

I've been happy and sad.I have been running from the truth.

I'm finally facing myself and what I need to do. It's not easy and it's not fun. I'm not sure I'm doing very well, but I'm trying.

There is good news. My brother and sister-in-law had their first child on Easter Sunday. I'm an AUNT! Her name is Bryn Elizabeth. She's adorable and I can't wait to spoil her and love her and see her grow up.

There she is. That's my brother's hand compared to her. She's pocket sized!

Until another day...

well i'm moving to atlanta. this is a decision i've been toying with for the past like 2 1/2 years. i know what some of you are worried about...isn't that where there was trouble with me and my life before? and the answer is...yes...but not now. i guess i should update you on life or something to make it all make sense. i'll give you an overview and you can call me (630-253-0317) if you want to know anything more.

basically i broke up with justin at the end of march. i loved him yes. he was a great guy yes. he wasn't the man i was going to marry. and why date when you're not going to marry the person? i don't regret the year we were seeing each other, but i wasn't going to devote another one. i wasn't happy with my life in illinois. i've always had a yearning to travel, go to school out-of-state, and i know there is a bigger plan for my life than just settling down in dekalb, il.

so i'm moving. i'm taking the opportunity to move to atlanta, work for a year, then start going to school to get my english BA at Georgia State University. GSU is the only college campus i've been on that i've felt at home and right at. i was accepted in high school so i have a really good chance at being accepted again. after that i want to travel. i don't know where or how or why. ideally i will obtain my tefl degree while in school and be able to teach in other countries. the peace corps has been on my mind a lot. i miss asia. maybe i'll go to thailand or japan?

for those of you who are concerned with my past history in atlanta. that guy...he's not in atlanta anymore. currently he's somewhere on the east coast, i think maine. i'm going to be staying with a friend's family initially. my sister knows a family that might be interested in taking me as a boarder for awhile. apparently they are very active in their church and missions and have two daughters. so i'm going to look into that at the end of the summer.

so i move in about 2 weeks. actually come to think of it 17 days. and guess what all you HA friends....i'll be 2 hours away from ALIZ. yay! so miss sara hill if you are reading this, we better hang out!

oh and anna if you read this, i'm praying for your sister.

jackie: sorry about a couple of weeks ago, my car ended up breaking down on the road trip.

becky: i miss you!

Life is strange....not strange...but a very interesting puzzle and gift.

I'm taking 21 credits this semester. That's 11 classes...

Intro to Music 220

Literay Study: Research and Criticism English 200

Special Study: Pilates TH-D 477Q

Dance Technique II: Horton 2 TH-D 207

Fundamentals of Oral Communication COMS 100

Stage Tech II: Scenery and Lighting THEA 255

Stage Tech II: Scenerey and Lighting Lab THEA 255A

Fundamentals of Acting for Non-Majors THEA 110

Modern Dance III TH-D 306

Performance & Production THEA 395

It's a lot....but I'm really enjoying my classes. I love that my first class of the week is Pilates. My stage tech lab is a ton of work, more than 70 hours work outside of class of required. It's a really good experience though. Yes ladies and gentlemen I can use a reciprocating saw and I'm super good at hanging very expensive lights on very high ladders. My English teacher is really amazing and I feel very supported. We turned in our first paper of the semester a few weeks ago and before our break last week he sat me down and told me I needed to re-write it because I was better than a "C" paper. "C"s are average, not failing, and pretty good for freshmen...but I was really glad that I got a second shot at it since we only have 4 grades in the class. Thanks Jesus. What is even more exciting to me is that I'm not getting sick of or fed up with dance. Which means that I finally have the security in myself to enjoy and improve my technique in class and not be worried about being the fat ballerina. God gave me a talent for dance and I can't let my vanity and the devil's lies keep me from it.

Other than that, life is pretty good. Nothing to really complain about.

I do need prayer though. There's things I can't talk about massively to everyone, but if you want some detail i'll be happy to share.

I hope my old sisters and brothers are doing well. I think of you often and pray for you. Keep seeking. Don't give up.
